My middle school drama teacher, Jessica Gaylor, fostered my love for musical theatre which encouraged me to be confident and share my love of music with the world. Her guidance opened a whole new avenue of creativity for me! Our productions showed me that anything’s possible with hard work and dedication.

Ms. G has touched my daughter’s life in so many ways. She taught my daughter how to become a stronger actress by teaching her to connect to the characters both mentally and emotionally. She taught her how to present herself and prepare for auditions. Most of all she always taught her and gave her advice in a loving and nurturing manner. Ms. G is truly one of those people who were meant to be a teacher. She finds something special about each of her students and helps them shine.

Being a theatre student built my confidence! Specifically, Jessica helped played a huge role in helping me find my strengths as not only a student, but a person. I use the same skills I learned in her classroom, as an adult, working with my clients and running my small business. Being a theatre student made me a leader, taught me how to hold myself accountable, and gave me community. I am thankful for my experience as Jessica’s student every day!

Ms Gaylor was my son’s first theatre teacher. We had the most amazing experience with her. She taught him so many things about theatre and himself. She brought out a side of my son he never knew he had. He sang for the very first time in her musicals. She has a way of making you feel like you can do anything. She is talented and passionate and truly cares about her students. Her love for theatre shines through her teaching and it is truly something special to watch. I can’t thank her enough for the impact she’s had on my son’s life. She’s one of those teachers that stay with you forever.

I had never expected that theatre would be something so important in my life until taking Ms. V's classes in middle school. Ms. V is such a kind and loving teacher who truly possesses that genuine care and determination to push her students to succeed not only in theatre, but in life. She is a rare case of an individual with a gift to teach, mentor, and inspire. Every instance of working with her has been such an honor and an incredibly positive experience; a sense of safety and comfort radiates from her, which always gave me the freedom and security to show out and express myself, even as someone who has always been introverted and shy. Even today, despite the years that have passed, my knowledge and abilities remain glued together by the experiences, corrections, and constructive aid that I acquired from working with Ms. V, and her encouraging lessons where I learned nearly all that I know today. Musical theatre continues to be an immense part of my life that has been for me: an outlet, a way of self-expression, and a way to resonate with the audience and tell everyone's story. This art is something that I wholeheartedly love doing, and I owe that to Ms. V for never letting me give up, for continuously being that safe space for me, for ensuring that my passion prevailed against my doubt, and for truly believing in me unlike any other.

Every kid should have a Ms. G! She has the superpower of blending fun and real skill-building. I’ve found that the exercises that Ms. G taught me in the sixth grade have popped up in top college theater environments across the US and UK. Ms. G is also a personal hero of mine, facing challenges big and small with a smile. She’s nurturing, inspiring, and knows what she’s doing… a young performer truly couldn’t ask for a better mentor!

Theatre is a beautiful and transformative art form, and I owe my personal growth to Ms. V. Her passion and deep knowledge elevate theatre to new heights, creating an inspiring learning environment. She has an approachable personality that makes collaborating with her a joy. When I worked with her in our production of Into The Woods Jr., I grew so much as an actor and person. We had challenges to overcome in that production but she pushed through for us to make it happen. It’s rare to find a teacher with whom I feel such a strong connection, but she has built that bond with me and many others. Through her guidance, I’ve met incredible people and discovered aspects of myself I never knew existed. Ms. V makes theatre accessible and enjoyable for everyone, from ages five to fifty. Now, I’m enrolled in two back-to-back theatre classes in high school, a path I might never have taken without her encouragement. She is a wonderful leader, and I am truly grateful for the impact she has had on my life and my love for theatre.
